Port Townsend musician and recording artist David Michael (The ferryboat harpist) has produced this new CD called Chantilly Mae, featuring the compositions of his wife Dari. This is their debut release as a musical duo. Dari composed the melodies for the CD on the hammer dulcimer, bowed psaltery and piano and David provided the arrangements. He accompanies her primarily on guitar and also with Celtic harp.
The eclectic music of Chantilly Mae utilizes many modes, with genres ranging from Medieval to Klezmer ... sometimes sounding Irish or like the soundtrack to an American western.

t appears that our County Commissioners are about to grant a permanent easement on the county owned land at Broadspit to The US Fish & Wildlife Service, Washington State Department of Ecology and the Northwest Watershed Institute. The proposed easement is for the furtherance of the Tarboo/Dabob Bay acquisition and restoration program that is underway, and is also connected with the Dabob Natural Area Preserve (NAP) which was recently hotly debated at the NAP public hearing at Quilcene High School . The wording of the proposed easement is very restrictive and probably means the use of the Park as we know it would be no more. Here are the restrictions they are asking for:
Passive management of the property to maintain its long-term natural function for fish and wildlife habitat value and benefits.
Restoring the land to its natural habitat conditions by removing human structures, materials, waste, etc.
Vegetation management of exotic species (such as Scots broom, etc.) and subsequent re-vegetation with native species.
Passive recreational opportunities which might include but are not limited to: nature walks and environmental education/interpretation.
